Piano Donations

PSF gratefully accepts a limited number of piano donations each year as space allows.  All instruments must be structurally sound and in good, working condition.  If you would like to see if your piano would be a good addition to our program, please send the following information to and someone from our piano fleet committee will get in touch as soon as possible.  Please remember, we are a volunteer organization and it make take 2 weeks or more for one of us to get back in touch.

  • Brand, model and year of piano
  • Serial number
  • Date of last tuning
  • General location (i.e. NE Portland, etc.)
  • When you would need the piano picked up
  • Any needed repairs
  • Photographs of the outside and the inside (particularly the hammers) of the piano

Providing this information generally helps us to determine whether it makes sense to drive out and look at the instrument.  We do not accept donations of spinets, player pianos, or baby grands.  We also generally do not accept pianos that have not been tuned in the past 5 years.  Currently, our greatest needs are for high quality studio uprights and for piano benches.
